LinkedIn + HubSpot integration: every option, what it needs, what it can't do
"Integrate LinkedIn with HubSpot" can mean four different things, and the one most people want, getting LinkedIn people into HubSpot as contacts, is the one HubSpot does least. Here is what works on each plan.
Short answer
Yes, partly. HubSpot connects with LinkedIn for ads, social posts and Sales Navigator. But HubSpot only creates contacts from LinkedIn through its LinkedIn CRM Sync app, which needs a Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise seat and Sales Navigator Advanced Plus. HubSpot's other LinkedIn app, the Sales Navigator card, can't import contacts at all.
Without those plans you have three routes: type people in by hand using HubSpot's built-in LinkedIn URL property, import a CSV of your LinkedIn connections, or use a browser extension that adds people from the profile you're viewing.
The four things "LinkedIn HubSpot integration" can mean
Search results mix these up, which is why the answers seem to contradict each other.
| What you want | What HubSpot offers |
|---|---|
| Publish posts to a LinkedIn page or profile | HubSpot's social tool connects LinkedIn accounts for scheduling and reporting. |
| Run LinkedIn ads and get leads from Lead Gen Forms | HubSpot's ads tool connects a LinkedIn Ads account; form leads arrive as contacts. |
| See LinkedIn on HubSpot records (Sales Navigator) | Two HubSpot apps, both needing Sales Navigator Advanced Plus and a paid Sales Hub seat. |
| Add people you find on LinkedIn to HubSpot as contacts | Only through LinkedIn CRM Sync (same requirements). Otherwise: by hand, CSV, or an extension. |
The rest of this guide is about the last row: people from LinkedIn, into HubSpot, as contacts.
Which option works for your plan
| Your set-up | What works |
|---|---|
| Any HubSpot plan, free LinkedIn or Premium | By hand with the LinkedIn URL property · CSV import of your own connections · a browser extension |
| Any HubSpot plan, Sales Navigator Core or Advanced | The same three. HubSpot's own Sales Navigator apps need Advanced Plus, so they don't apply. Extensions that work on Sales Navigator lead pages do. |
| Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise, Sales Navigator Advanced Plus | LinkedIn CRM Sync can create and update HubSpot contacts from Sales Navigator, and the Sales Navigator app shows a LinkedIn card on records. Extensions still help for regular LinkedIn profiles. |
Most small teams are in the first two rows. Advanced Plus is LinkedIn's top Sales Navigator plan, and a Sales Hub Professional seat is a large step up from HubSpot's free or Starter plans.
Option 1: add people by hand, with the LinkedIn URL property
HubSpot has a built-in contact property called LinkedIn URL ("the URL of the contact's LinkedIn page"). Older HubSpot Community threads say you need to create your own LinkedIn field. That's out of date.
- Open the person's LinkedIn profile and copy the address from the browser bar, for example
linkedin.com/in/jane-doe. - In HubSpot, search Contacts for their name and email first, so you don't create a duplicate.
- Create the contact with first name, last name, job title and company, and paste the address into LinkedIn URL. If you can't see it, add it from the contact's properties ("View all properties").
- Associate the contact with their company record, so the company isn't created twice later.
It's free and accurate, and takes a minute or two per person. Keep the LinkedIn address in one form (no https://www., no trailing slash, no tracking after a ?) so you can search it reliably later.
Option 2: export your LinkedIn connections and import them
LinkedIn lets you download a file of your first-degree connections from Settings & Privacy → Data privacy → Get a copy of your data. You can import that file into HubSpot as contacts.
Two catches. The file only has an email address for connections who allow it, and HubSpot matches imported contacts on email. Rows without an email become new contacts every time you import, which is how duplicates pile up. It also only covers people you're already connected to, frozen at the date of export.

Option 3: HubSpot's own LinkedIn apps
HubSpot lists two LinkedIn apps on its Marketplace. Both need an assigned Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise seat and a Sales Navigator Advanced Plus account.
- LinkedIn Sales Navigator shows a Sales Navigator card on HubSpot contact and company records, so you can view the person's LinkedIn details and send InMail from HubSpot. HubSpot's help page is direct: "It is not possible to import contacts from LinkedIn using the integration." It's rated 2.0 from 372 ratings on the Marketplace.
- LinkedIn CRM Sync syncs HubSpot contacts, companies and deals with Sales Navigator leads, accounts and opportunities, logs Sales Navigator activity in HubSpot, and lets each user create and update HubSpot contacts from Sales Navigator. Only new and updated data syncs after you switch it on, and the field mapping can't be edited. It's rated 2.7 from 75 ratings.
If your team already pays for both plans, CRM Sync is worth switching on. If not, these plans cost far more than the problem. More detail: HubSpot's Sales Navigator integration and CRM Sync.
Option 4: a browser extension
Extensions add a button to LinkedIn itself. You open a profile, click, and the contact is created in HubSpot with name, title, company and LinkedIn address filled in. They work with any LinkedIn account and most don't need Sales Navigator.
They differ on the things that matter after the first week:
- Duplicates. Does it check HubSpot by LinkedIn address and email before creating, and show you a same-name match instead of guessing?
- Overwriting. When someone is already in HubSpot, does it fill empty fields only, or replace what your team typed?
- Credits. Many extensions are really email-finding tools priced in credits. If you only need to save people, you shouldn't pay per contact.
- Your LinkedIn account. Tools that visit profiles or sync your inbox in the background are the ones that get accounts restricted. Prefer tools that read only the page you have open.

What about Zapier or Make?
Automation tools can't read a LinkedIn profile for you. LinkedIn doesn't give other apps access to members' profiles, so there's no "new LinkedIn profile" trigger to connect to HubSpot. Zapier's own community says it can't link LinkedIn profiles to HubSpot directly. Where Zapier and Make do help is LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms (ads), which HubSpot's ads tool also handles.
Keeping LinkedIn contacts up to date
Getting someone into HubSpot is half the job. Two things go stale:
- Job changes. HubSpot doesn't notice when a contact changes title or company on LinkedIn. Check profiles of key contacts now and then, or use a tool that flags the change when you open their profile.
- Conversations. HubSpot has a free "Log LinkedIn message" activity on every plan, so you can paste a conversation onto the contact's timeline. Tools can do it in one click. See how to log LinkedIn messages in HubSpot.
Questions
Does HubSpot integrate with LinkedIn?
Yes, for social posting, LinkedIn Ads and Sales Navigator. Creating contacts from LinkedIn profiles needs HubSpot's LinkedIn CRM Sync app, which requires a Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise seat and Sales Navigator Advanced Plus.
Can HubSpot create contacts from LinkedIn for free?
Not by itself. On free and Starter plans you can add the person by hand (HubSpot has a built-in LinkedIn URL property), import a CSV of your LinkedIn connections, or use a browser extension.
Do I need Sales Navigator to connect LinkedIn to HubSpot?
For HubSpot's own LinkedIn apps, yes: Sales Navigator Advanced Plus. For the manual and CSV routes, no. Most browser extensions, including SyncToCRM, work with any LinkedIn account.
Is there a LinkedIn field in HubSpot?
Yes. HubSpot contacts have a default property called "LinkedIn URL". Its internal name, used by imports and the API, is hs_linkedin_url.
Can Zapier send LinkedIn profiles to HubSpot?
No. LinkedIn doesn't let other apps read members' profiles, so Zapier has nothing to trigger on. It does work for LinkedIn Lead Gen Form leads from ads.
